MINNEAPOLIS – COPAL is set to mark a significant milestone in its mission to enhance community engagement and empowerment. With the demolition of the former O’Reilly Auto Parts building at 2905 E Lake Street in Minneapolis next April 10th, COPAL takes the first step in the construction of the much-anticipated Latino Center for Community Engagement (LCCE).

The LCCE is a 24,000-square-foot transformative space that will serve to empower the Latine community in Minnesota. It will act as a gathering ground for community events, a home-base for COPAL’s programs and administration and as a leasing space for partner organizations. Construction on the LCCE is set to begin July 2025.

COPAL invites the community to join them to celebrate the demolition, as it will mark the start of the organization’s next chapter. The event will feature music, engaging activities, food and drinks, and the voices of community members. A brief program will begin at 5:30 p.m. that will include speakers from COPAL and from the community. Your presence will enrich this milestone event as we embark on this transformative initiative together.
